Raising Funds and Awareness for your Charity

2016 is here and the efforts to raise funds for your cause or charity are no doubt being renewed and refreshed! Fundraising is the most important part of any charity campaign, however it can be difficult to know where to start when you’re in the planning stages. There are so many options when it comes to branded merchandise that can boost funds and awareness for any cause. It’s hard to know where to start but for many popular causes wristbands and collection tins are a great staple fundraising and promotional tool. To mark the start of the new year, PAC Promotional Products are offering discounts on multi-buy packs of collection boxes and tins with silicone or rubber wristbands, printed with your charity details.

Silicone wristbands are by far one of the most popular pieces of charity merchandise to sell as they are low cost, practical to wear in support of a cause and fashionable. They can also be displayed with a collection box at any number of venues for easy distribution and fundraising. The Poppy Appeal and Help for Heroes are prime examples of successful wristband campaigns and this method could help raise your cause to the same status of popularity.

Here are some further tips that will help your campaign to be a success!

Before any planning takes place you need to specify the purpose of your event or cause; it’s probably to raise money, but that shouldn’t be the only goal. No doubt the charity in question is important to you, so you not only need to raise money, but awareness. The more people who are aware of the issue, the more people can spread the word and raise more money!

Target Audience

Consider who your target audience is; whilst you’d like to target everybody, not everyone will be interested in the same thing.  Focus on one particular age group at a time, to make sure that you are as appealing as you can be to each sector and make a plan.

Promoting your fundraising campaign is essential. A charity couldn’t be very successful without that. There are many different ways that you can promote and market your campaign and cause, from events to T-shirts. Charity wristbands have proven to be an exceptional way to raise awareness and money;  Cancer Research UK, NSPCC and Macmillan have all been known to include a wristband campaign in their fundraising techniques.

Saying Thanks!

Remember to say thank you. Whatever the donation, whatever the turn out, you must always say thank you to those who donate not only money, but time and energy. Charity campaigning isn’t easy and it can take a lot of time. If people feel appreciated for their hard work, then your fundraising event or campaign is more likely to be successful. A successful campaigning event doesn’t just need exceptional promotional devices, but also planning and careful consideration. So good luck with your event, we hope it’s a success!   If you’d like to use a wristband campaign for your charity event contact us, or follow the link below for information on our range of silicone wristbands and all of our other fundraising products.

Christmas Promotion!

WHAT! NO! We don’t want to hear about Christmas in September! It’s cold, it’s expensive,

parking everywhere is rubbish and it’s still months away!

But like it or not preparation starts early, especially if you’re a business looking to promote yourself

via the festive bandwagon.

A corporate gift still works in terms of promotion, especially if it’s usable or novel… or perhaps a desk item so it stays right in front of your clients (or potential clients) as they work over those gloomy ‘inbetween-christmas-and-new-year-days-that-are-as-productive-as-diddly-squat’. Since the last recession, understandably there’s been a trend in many companies to save on costs and therefore not go dishing out a little Happy Christmas branded goody to clients. Well we say NO, it doesn’t have to be expensive but a Christmas promotion of a corporate gift not only says thank you for your business this year, but also will be sat in front of your client come January as a reminder of how very excellent your company is to work with in future. So no need to be a Scrooge. In the words of Shania ‘that don’t impress me much’. Your client needs to be kept aware of how generous and fabulous you are, especially come the New Year when you want some new business coming in. Consider what kind of product your target market would like to receive, what kind of branded corporate gift are they most likely to keep and use? Or just what gift would make them smile!

Take a look through our catalogue for ideas or here’s a few thoughts!

For those chained to their desks, perhaps a branded mouse mat, even better, include a 2016 calendar on it – it’s really useful, I refer to mine all the time…yes I’m sad and never know what day it is. Plus, they give you a large advertising area so you can have your logo and contact details printed all over them. At PAC Promotional Products we don’t just make them, we’ll design them for you. Prices start from 64p each.

For example take a look at these ones, they can be printed to photographic quality and are not too heavy to post. Introducing, the Brite-Mat Lite.

Brite-Mat: Photographic print quality, round or rectangular

A good quality pen is invaluable and if you send them out for Christmas with some sweeties then frankly, we think you’ll be loved for ever!  Curvy Pens printed with your logo start from 19p each ex. VAT, so they really are low cost and won’t be thrown away with the Christmas cards come January!

Want novel and memorable? Well look no further! You too can help promote mild peril in your client’s place of work with a branded Fold-Up Frisbee! Yes we do those too, yes it’s a random Christmas gift. But come Christmas Eve when your clients are sat about watching the clock trudge towards pub time, let’s face it, a Frisbee in the office is going to lighten the mood. Have your logo printed onto it and your company just became responsible for office fun. Prices start from .79p each.

Foldable Fun!

Want cute and personable? One word people – BEARS. There is always a minimum of one person in the office who will want the bear gift, printed or embroidered with your logo of course. They’re cute, plus they’re useful for moments of childish ‘bear versus stapler role play games’ when the emails have stopped working and everyone is trying to look busy. Look around you, you can identify that bear loving person in your own place of work……They’re the one with the 14 pot plants, a little sign saying ‘It’s Always Wine O’Clock’, half a dozen fluffy bugs (we do those too), their own personal portable heater and a mug they brought in from home because ‘they just like their mug’. Found them? Every office has one and if you send someone a bear, it’ll stay right where it needs to be to keep your brand in their mind.

Honey Jointed Sash Bears start from £1.15 each.

It’s that time of year when we find ourselves in #marathon season, when many very dedicated, athletic or just mad people raise funds for their chosen charity or cause by putting themselves through the pain barrier. Race for Life and the London Marathon are the most well-known but this method of fundraising has become hugely popular in smaller events all around the UK. At PAC Promotional Products, we supply many fundraising events with products as fundraising tools, whether they be
wristbands, collection boxes, lanyards for officials or merchandise such as mugs, pens, t-shirts and even trolley coins!

web charity products

But aside from the standard fundraising techniques, we’ve been considering some alternative ways to raise money for your charity.

These are our top 4!

Be handymen.

Get you and your volunteers together and sell vouchers for handymen services. You can mow lawns, change light bulbs, unclog drains or toilets, or paint a small room. You can sell these vouchers door-to-door or through your place of business. The elderly and single parents will especially appreciate these services.

Feed people.

Forget the bake-sale. Baking items are expensive. Instead, set up a hot dog station. Ask for donations of large quantities of hot dogs, buns, and condiments from local grocery stores or restaurants, or you can buy these yourself from wholesalers like Costco. Advertise your event well or set up in a space that gets a lot of foot traffic and begin selling dogs. Don’t forget to let people know what you’re raising the money for and what stores might have helped you put it together!

Offer family photos.

Get a local photographer to donate their time and equipment and have your business or church host a family photo day. Everyone can come and pay a low fee to have their picture taken and then provide prints or provide the digital files for families to get their own prints.

Create a Fundraising Shop.

A percentage of any purchases you or your friends make on Amazon, Target, Best Buy, or other online retailers will be donated to your cause. Check with each online retailer to find out what the requirements are, as well as get advice on how to really succeed.

PAC Promotional Products can provide any type of branded merchandise to sell to raise both awareness and funds. Contact us today at or on 01379 872713

Another great job for a great brand!

Paddy & Scott’s Cups

Paddy & Scott’s Coffee are one of the top Suffolk success stories in terms of business and branding…their coffee is excellent too!

Pac Promotional Products recently worked with them on some new branded Flaskets and here’s why!

At Paddy & Scott’s we pride ourselves on our recycling initiatives and reducing our carbon footprint as much as we can. For example, we give away our left-over coffee grounds from our cafes for customers to use on their gardens as coffee grounds are an excellent organic way of repelling slugs and snails and attracting earthworms. Alongside this initiative, we have also launched our new Paddy & Scott’s Flasket Programme so with every purchase of one of our takeaway Flaskets, the customer gets their first takeaway drink for free then 10p off every 12oz hot drink thereafter – as long as it goes in the Flasket instead of a takeaway cup! 2.5 billion takeaway cups are thrown away each year in the UK alone so by encouraging our customers to use a Flasket, not only does it save them money but if also helps to save our planet!

(Statement from Paddy & Scott’s)

More about this fantastic brand!

Love of great tasting coffee between two friends.

Artisan coffee is taking on a whole new meaning as consumers demand a premium experience, not just on the high street but in the work place too. Proud branding, stylish hand built coffee machines, slow roasted, small batch coffee with provenance. Paddy & Scott’s is headed by two real people and a dynamic team. Give us a call at The Bean Barn and we’ll come and see you, have a coffee and hatch a plan to revolutionise your coffee offering.

(excerpt from Paddy & Scott’s Website)

Paddy and Scott’s have two cafes in Suffolk, in Framlingham and Bury St. Edmunds, that are well worth a visit for some great coffee and atmosphere. Their great products are now stocked in major supermarkets such as Waitrose and Tesco as well as many cafes, hotels and other venues.

Would these cups be a good product to promote your brand?

New Year, New YOU?
Is 2015 all about boosting your brand and growing that client base?
One of the best ways to introduce more people to your company is promotional merchandise.
If you select the right item to promote with, it’s a permanent advert, unlike nearly every other advertising method.
But there are some key things to consider before you go ordering 600 stressballs in the shape of a dog just because your a vet!
The 2 most important things with selecting successful promotional products is that they need to be practical and still broadcast the correct message about your brand.
If the promotional item is not useful, there is always a chance that it’ll be disposed of by the potential client receiving it. Therefore make sure you do not necessarily
select a promotional product with the idea that it must directly relate to your industry. Select it based on whether you think the recipient will keep it and therefore keep your company name in front of them for longer. For example, if you are a B2B company, most of the market you serve might be office-based clients, therefore it makes sense to think about what desk products will suit your logo and be of practical use. Mouse mats are always a good idea, desk tidies are useful and calendars are still widely used in an office setting. But our best-selling promotional desk product would be the simple pen! PAC offer a wide range promotional pens both branded and plain and from budget to luxe.

Luxe corporate pens – can be printed and engraved

Personalised printed pens are a cost effective was to promote your company and these are our favourite when it comes to style and value.
They are the perfect corporate stationery giveaway. These shapely ballpens are so much better to distribute to your customers than regular biros – they look classy, but are really reasonable.

The attractive hourglass barrel is finished in a subtle graduated colour and accented by a chic silver trim and clip.

Plus they come in a wide range of colours, so you are sure to find one to match your pallette and brand.Have them personalised to your company brand with your logo and contact details. These promotional pens can be printed in up to 4 spot colours (subject to sight of artwork).

Promotional Products for Charities

Every charity needs the oxygen of publicity and promotion. It’s the way to get your message across, the way to make the public realise the worth of your cause. This can particularly apply to small charities which are often set up by those who have been directly affected by tragedy and don’t have access to huge, national PR machines. These charities rely on committed individuals, willing to go that extra mile to raise awareness.

What about an example?

* ‘From Fire to Ice’ is a sponsored expedition supporting the charity ‘Dan’s fund’s for Burns‘.

Rob suffered 43% body burns during a house fire, with a 27% chance of survival, whilst living and working in Zanzibar. Remarkably he pulled through and, after 200 days in hospital and 30 operations, he has learnt to walk again with the help of dedicated medical support.

Rob now proposes to complete an expedition to the South Pole, accompanied by medical experts to monitor his progress, in the hope that his unequalled tenacity can shed some light on the future care of others who sustain life threatening burns.

‘From Fire to Ice’ is supported by The Honourable Alexandra Shackleton, whose grandfather, Sir Ernest Shackleton, paved the way for polar exploration.

How to get the message out there.

You’ve got to talk to people! Many larger charities have the resources to put feet on the street, or go door to door. Smaller charities don’t have that luxury – so how to get the message to a wider audience? Charity speaking could be the answer. Societies, community or church groups are often looking for interesting speakers, as are schools, who welcome informative speakers to their assemblies or free lessons. The important thing is to maximise publicity – perhaps through the local press. You’ve also got to make sure that your message sticks, so make it interesting, passionate and memorable. For more top tips visit Speakers Trust – the UK’s leading public speaking training charity, specialising in the education, not-for-profit and community sectors.

Promotional Products for Charities large or small

There is no better way to keep the message alive than by leaving a reminder behind. Many people love to display their support for the charities they champion (look at the success of the poppy appeal). So how can Pac Promotional Products help? In addition to the ever popular wristbands, we have a wide range of other charity products including balloon sticks, clappers, lapel pins & ribbons, T-shirts, trolley coins, key rings, pens, confectionery – even the collection boxes and tins!

Call our sales team today to discuss your own special requirements.

The benefits to your business of promotional items

Promotion of your business is one of your key aims. You want to keep your existing customers loyal and reach out to new people. So how best to do this? Promotional Products!

Everybody loves a free gift, especially if it’s useful or a really unexpected treat to cheer up the working day. This is where promotional gifts can lift your profile above the competition.

Not only do they help open up lines of communication but they also leave a lasting impression. Compared with conventional advertisements which usually run for a set amount of time, well chosen promotional products could potentially continue advertising your brand indefinitely. That’s got to be money well spent!

Why hand out promotional gifts?
Because your customers love them! It’s also a very effective way to spread your brand identity and, according to the industry body The British Promotional Merchandise Association (BPMA), promotional products are 6 times more likely to make customers feel appreciated, 3 times more likely to inspire loyalty and twice as likely to make recipients take positive action than the mediums of print, web, direct mail or TV.

Promotional gifts are personal too.
The key is to give your client a product they will actually use! According to the BPMA

“Promotional products are more than just a freebie, if a promotional item is useful, research shows that 89% of people will keep it.”

By knowing your customers, you can choose a range of promotional gifts to suit. Perhaps your clients prefers eco-friendly products? Reusable jute shoppers would be the ideal. Are they into healthy living/exercise? Try water bottles. By not settling for a ‘one size fits all’ solution, your customer will feel special and valued. Something that they won’t forget when they place their next order.

Christmas is coming!
The holiday season is a great time to reward your customers with a well chosen gift, ensuring their loyalty for another year. How about these suggestions?

  • Ever been in an office where chocolates didn’t go down well? Me neither!
  • How about some fashionable americano cups for that early morning wake up coffee?
  • For something extra special you can’t go wrong with a classic pen, especially a gorgeous retro Parker pen?
  • And when didn’t we all forget an umbrella to keep us dry on the journey home, especially at this time of year?

The possibilities are almost endless for promotional gifts, both large and small. It’s one of the most cost efficient ways to keep you and your business firmly in the minds of your valued customers.

Make your business stand out from the crowd

Promote your business with promotional items

You love your loyal customers, right? Repeat customers who come back again and again for your products and services. But wait, don’t go sitting on those laurels! Attracting a steady stream of new business is vital in today’s super competitive environment. So where to start ….let’s begin with the basics.

What makes you so special?

Whether your business is regional, national or global, the first thing to identify is what makes your business so special/different/unique. What do you offer that the competition doesn’t? Once you know, shout it from the rooftops!

This time it’s personal

Get to know your customers. Who are they, what makes them tick, where are they? Figure out the customer you’d like to attract and use this image to create your marketing campaigns. Really try to connect with people.

Get those new customers

Some methods will work better than others, depending on who your target customer is. Once you understand who your customer is, you’ll be able to identify where to find them and then you can focus your marketing strategy to people most likely to actually pay for your services.

Here’s some ideas to get you started.

  • Invite the local press and media. Your local radio stations would be a good start as they are often looking for local interest. Sometimes small stories get picked up by bigger fish. Read all about it – How to get your business on local news
  • Get your company and your staff involved in a local charity. Helping a good cause is great for you and your staff and can help raise your profile at the same time.
  • Attend local events and fetes, where you can distribute promotional products to raise awareness of your brand with potential customers.
  • If you’re selling to a wider market, promote what you do locally on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter with comments, links, pictures and videos, because everyone can connect with positive, feel good, community involvement.
  • If you’ve got a lull, get into town, talk to the people directly and distribute your promotional material, taking the opportunity to make new contacts.
  • Try creating links with other local businesses, who can pass on suitable customers and improve your reach and reputation. For example, if you’re a party planner link up with a local photographer, caterer, mobile disco or other service provider in the same industry. Your customers will be delighted that their special event is taken care of with just one call. You can be that hero!

The more people who know about you and the unique and positive way in which you can deliver your services, the more people they will tell. So get out there and spread the word!
